So I'm officially kicking off this lifestyle change today....well, actualy it was yesterday, Sunday, August 3. I will be using a combination of resources to achieve my goals. This blog will be where I post my weekly progress and things I am doing to lose weight. This will include recipes that I cook. I will be posting on sparkpeople.com under the user name jchene2. On spark people, I will be posting all my exercise and all food intake, as well as my weight loss goals. If any of you are interested in what I have been eating to lose wieght, my complete calorie count is there.

My goal is to get to 165lb by my 2009 birthday. So I have to lose about 80 pounds. According to Sparkpeople.com, to achieve this I have several things I will be doing. I will consume somewhere around 2000 calories a day. This will put me initially at a 1600 calorie deficit. I will keep myself well-hydrated even though I suck at it. I will exercise at least 30 min a day. This exercise will be keeping me in my target heart rate, which is 135-159 beats per min. I will also try behavior and cognitive exercising to change my relationship with food. Lastly, I will seek support from my friends and family to help me lose weight.
